In South Africa, the University of Pretoria (UP) is the only institution in the country offering a Bachelor of Veterinary Science degree (BVSc). UP’s Faculty of Veterinary Science offers an undergraduate veterinary degree programme and a veterinary nursing diploma programme as well as a variety of postgraduate degree programmes.

At the University of Pretoria, first years will attend classes at the Hatfield campus. For the rest of the course’s duration, students will complete their BVSc degrees on the Onderstepoort campus of the university.
